Your vet may also recommend to always give your diabetic cat vitamin supplements and placing him on a special prescription diet such as a science diet.  You need to be able to see your cat immediately after he gets an injection. It is also a good idea to have some numbers to your vet in at least two 24-hours emergency veterinarian hospitals with you at any time just in case your cat needs help.

Feral cats can be tamed

Feral cats differ from stray cats. Stray cats are usually the product of an irresponsible person. Irresponsibility in two ways can be defined differently then a stray dog:  Your dumping or leaving a cat and/or neglecting to spay and neuter your cats. Stray cats may be shy, but are often easily tamed.  Feral cats are cats that are probably wild and wild parents themselves were born wild. Feral cats have no human interaction and are very difficult to tame.

Feral cats are difficult to tame for indoors.  There are many rescue organizations that are dedicated to the trap and spaying pets, and castration of feral cat colonies. Many times, these organisations catch the cats, have them spayed and neutered and then let them loose nearby, where you originally found them. You need to devote food to these colonies.

Feral cats are everywhere. You can find feral cats in rural or farm areas, abandoned buildings and even parks and streets. You can catch a glimpse of them, but chances are that you would not be able to easily catch one. They shy away from people and make no contact to you. If you have wild cats in your area, you can question whether these animals as pets can be kept.

Taming a wild cat is simply a pain be because it is not accustomed to having interactions with people.  Possibly some cats are classified as semi-feral, total feral or even a wild cat converted to people.  Depending on what classification your cat is, dictates your potential success in socializing. In addition, it takes a lot of time, love and patience to tame these cats.

If you find a cat that has for years been feral, There is little to no chance to socialize it.  With no human contact at all, these cats are overly independent and would never depend on a person for food or camaraderie. You might have some limited human contact or better success with a cat who is semi-feral.  In these cases. a converted wild cat would probably have the best chance for a normal life as someone's pet. These cats were once domesticated, which means that probably life as a pet started and then was abandoned. A converted wild cat will more than likely eventually respond to human interactions such as love and affection.

When you find a wild cat you want to tame, keep in mind that it involves hard work to get the wild cat to trust you and can be on their own.  Sometimes your efforts take months, especially with older cats to pay off.  If your attempts are a success, the rewards are worth it because a strong relationship can develop and loyalty and love is the reward.

If you believe, have the time and love to try tame a wild cat there some things to remember.  First, these cats see you as an intruder and are very likely to spit, hiss, bite and claw.  This is a normal response as you are seen as a perceived robber - When they are defending against you and manage to bite or scratch, you should apply first aid immediately.  After you have successfully captured a wild cat, your very first step is to take it to the vet for castration or neuter and check all disease problems. This is a necessary step and an absolute must if there are other pets in the house.  When you arrive home with your cat, Let it adapt to you and the environment by giving him a small, secure place stay in a small bathroom or laundry room where it will not be overwhelmed.  You will  need time every day to spend time with the cat and allow the cat be accustomed to you.

Remember that not all feral cats can be socialized; however, your time with love and patience, your efforts are worthwhile.
