Domestic cat breeds

You have always wanted a cat, but you've heard some breeds make better pets than others?  Maybe you wanted to always have a cat, but know nothing about them?  There are many ways to learn about cats and what breeds fit your personality. You can have the choice of having one indoor, outdoor or indoor and outdoor cat. The hard and smart survival in the out of doors. Small cats are often pray for birds and other wildlife and should be kept in the house.  Male, a hybrid are great for survivors in the free and mousers. So let us consider some breeds of cats and then be able to choose which one may be right for your lifestyle.


Siam: The Siamese cat can be fickle creature. They often require a lot of attention when they determine it is necessary. They tend to meow and can rip up a house if left too long alone. These are the disadvantages. Siam can be great pets, especially when raised from infancy. They are often white with blue eyes and Brown ears. You can see them in Lady and the tramp. These two were a little mean and not the typical appearance of Siam. Siam are generally very affectionate. They are one of the smartest cat species. They tend to very social, which is, why they meow or " talk" much.  A sign of attention is usually a very vocal meow similar to a babies cry.  They generally bind to someone very strong and are territorial for this person.


Persian: One of the oldest cats to the Persian cat breed. They are longhaired cats with nice shinny coats. They are very soft and friendly; However, they are prone to health problems such as allergies.  The Persians do not play as much as other breeds, but enjoy a bit of fun for exercise in a social situation.  They love it to have to play with other cats and a round have available a variety of colors, if they are in a black, white or a mixture of white and Brown's around the face.  A popular is the Himalayas.


Manx: The Manx is known for its stubby tail or no tail. The disadvantage of Manx cats is the lack of tail. Often, a Manx can suffer from worms and other parasites because of improper cleaning under the protection of the tail. This does not mean that the Manx breed should be discounted. The Manx breed is extremely intelligent and playful.  They are much like dogs on the playground, because they  can get a toy and bring it back to you.  They are usually very social animals and depend on human care.  They do not like to be left alone too long. So it is advisable to have other cats to play with if you are gone during the day.The best home for a Manx is one filled with children.


These are only three of the most popular breeds of cats.  There are more than a dozen breeds to choose and find that fits your lifestyle.  Cats are very social and intelligent breeds, but in most cases, choose a cat when the time is right and what kind of attention you currently can give.  There is a saying "You don't have a cat, they have you" is very true.
